The Challenge
Persistent Basement Leakage Threatening Operations
A multi-level underground parking garage in New Belgrade faced persistent water ingress due to:
- High groundwater pressure in the river-adjacent zone,
- Settlement-induced cracking in slabs and retaining walls,
- Failing conventional waterproofing membranes,
- Ongoing moisture problems causing:
- Standing water on parking surfaces,
- Dampness damaging stored property,
- Risk of corrosion in embedded steel reinforcements,
- Tenant complaints and increased maintenance costs.
Due to the facility’s continuous use, a fast, non-invasive sealing solution was needed to avoid operational disruption.
The Solution
EURAS® Gel Type B – Elastic, Non-Toxic Waterproofing
Following assessment, EURAS® Gel Type B was chosen because it:
- Penetrates and displaces active water in saturated cracks,
- Remains elastic and adherent even under movement,
- Is compatible with old concrete and residual moisture,
- Is non-toxic and safe for enclosed commercial spaces,
- Can be applied by high-pressure injection without excavation.
Execution Methodology
The project was executed during scheduled maintenance intervals:
- Mapping infiltration points with moisture sensors and inspections,
- Drilling injection ports along perimeter walls and floor slab cracks,
- High-pressure injection of EURAS Gel Type B up to 130 bar,
- Continuous monitoring of flow reduction and gel return to confirm saturation,
- Final inspection and verification of watertightness.
All work was performed without closing the garage to residents or tenants.
